Pop Sigma to work with AKQA to produce original content that convey unique Shanghai style

Shanghai, October 17, 2011. Pop Sigma, a digital marketing company based in Shanghai, announced today that it will produce video content for sportswear giant Nike.

The theme of the video centers around ‘’Qiang diao’’ – that is, Shanghai style. The video will capture the uniqueness of Shanghai’s active young trendsetters including basketball players, skateboarders, and Wushu martial art performers. This content is conveyed through the lyrics of a local rap artist walking the streets of the iconic Chinese metropolis.

As director for the project, Pop Sigma has secured renowned Taiwanese director Kuang Sheng. Through a career spanning almost twenty years, he has directed a thousand videos for the Mandarin world’s largest hit makers. For Jay Chou alone, Kuang Sheng has racked up an impressive thirty music video credits.

‘’Pop Sigma has consistently been the go-to agency to secure top-tier talent for fresh and exciting campaigns in China. It’s with tremendous pleasure that we reach out to the best in the industry to work with one of the most forward thinking sportswear brands in the world,’’ said Matt Lovett, a partner at Pop Sigma. “We applaud AKQA and NIKE for demanding a superior level of execution on this project.”
